Let your light shine before men by Rev Pauline Ling on 23 Sept 2018

The preacher Rev Pauline shared a story of a man who hid his identity as a Christian as the light of the world in the area of his stay. Her advice to this man was not to hide his identity but that it was our responsibility to shine for others (Matthew 5:14a). Are people able to see Jesus when we hide our identity? To be the light of the world means to live the Spirit of Christ in our action and to help others not to live in the dark nor walk in darkness but to follow Jesus (John 8:12). When we are involved in social concern, God’s love will be revealed through our good deeds. In a way it also helps us to examine our faith in God for ‘Faith without deeds is dead”. In other words we have social responsibility for those who are suffering around us. In so doing, we are in fact telling others that we have an unshakable responsibility to our nation (Micah 6:8), by loving our country and that we love to see our nation becomes better and better, which is also obeying the great commandments. So are we willing to walk an extra mile for Him so that others may see your light shining?
