“Give us a King” by Dr. Lee on 10th June 2018

Let not our mind be crowded by what a king is. In those days of Samuel, Israel had no king (Judges 17:6, 18:1, 19:1 & 21-25). The people wanted to remove God as their king and demanded for an earthly king. They did not want Samuel sons to be king as they were corrupted. So do we still ask for earthly kings to lead us? In other words, do we refuse the security of God and seek the security of the world? Be certain who the king of your life is. Do not reject the true king. The Israelites were impatient in requesting for a king and in spite of Samuel who warned them of the consequences of having an earthly king they still demanded for a king. God gave them kings after kings of whom some were good and some were bad, but God gave them the best King and that is Jesus. The true king gives, the false kings takes.
