“Discipleship” by Rev. Poh on 5th Jan 2020

The preacher Rev. Poh stressed that in life, we must be a practitioner, that is to practice what we have learned in church and in the family. He pointed out that the church is the primary equipper of parents. He added that once parents are equipped with the Bible knowledge and teachings, they will become the primary disciples at home especially to their children. This in effect fulfils the commands in the great commission. But how do we do discipleship in church? According to Acts 2:42 & 46a, the Bible says “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship (Church equipping), to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts”. Rev. Poh asked, “How about Discipleship at home? Using the book of Acts 2:46b he said, “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,” Rev Poh shared that parents are equipped to be the primary disciples at home for instance, HOME = CHURCH. In year 2020, he outlined that TTMC planned to introduce Family Bible study, Family prayer, use of the “Daily Living Water” and other materials as Family Discipleship to strengthen the Bible knowledge. Therefore, he believed parents are to be a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). So, in 2020, we need the church and the home to be like both pedals of a bicycle to work together to move forward by building and making disciples.
