“We Read to Listen & Pray to Talk” by Rev Poh on 18th Nov 2018

As children of God, how effectively do we communicate with our Father in heaven? When an infant/baby yearns for milk or feels uncomfortable, what the baby can do was to cry in order to capture the parent’s attention. So how do we communicate with our heavenly Father? One way is to listen to our heavenly Father by reading the Bible which is the Word (John 1:1) and the Love story of God (1 John 4:8). Another way is to talk to God. Jesus taught His disciples the Lord’s Prayer (Mat 6:9-13).

We can adore and praise Him (v 9-10). We can also pray for our physical needs (v 11), pray for forgiveness (v12) and protection (v13). Lastly we can listen and talk to God during our quiet time. You may want to choose one book of the Bible and read a little each time or read one chapter perhaps and when a verse resonates, meditate and pray on it.
