“TTMC Challenges” by Dr. Simon Wong on 13th Jan 2019

Let’s see what challenges TTMC faced. Firstly, the challenge is whether we do come together to pray or at least join the English Corporate prayer. By looking at the Ephesians, petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving are made for all people even for those who are in authority (1 Tim 2:1-2). According to Dr. Simon, we faced the challenge of low attendance in our corporate prayer meetings, for generally in corporate prayer meetings the attendance is small in numbers. Secondly is the issue of Godliness. We are to say no to ungodliness and worldly passion (Titus).

Do we have the desire for His Word, devotion, prayer, fellowship and fully contented with our Lord Jesus Christ and not the worldly pleasures and values? Third challenge is on Salvation issue. Where are we in the area of evangelism, reaching out and making disciples? There is a big challenge to reach out to the Tabuan areas namely the Borneo International School, Sunway College, Vocational School, Tabuan Laru Food court, Kpg Sg. Laru etc. We need to be intentional by doing evangelism. The fourth challenge is to be contented and guard against materialism (1 Tim 6:5). Money is not bad but if we abuse it, there will be no more sharing. Are we willing to do good, to be rich in doing good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share (1 Tim 6:18-19)? For the secret to Godliness is contentment and living a Christlike lifestyle of caring and sharing.
