Prayers Of Nehemiah

The message on 30th Oct 2017, at the 5 pm service, the speaker Dr. Simon in his sermon entitled “Prayers of Nehemiah” reminded us of the importance of prayer and what we could learn from the prophet Nehemiah. The readings were taken from Neh 1:3-11; 2:4-5, 8b.

In his sermon he stressed on four (4) important areas and what we could learn from the prophet Nehemiah are as follows:-

1. Praying was about communicating & close relationship with his God i.e. to have a close relationship with our Lord Jesus. This was how we live out our prayer life and attitude.
2. Praying was day and night before God (v6) i.e. to pray continually & persistently. Our non-stop prayer and the awareness of God’s presence at all times.
3. Praying was important to keep faith in God i.e. not to lose hope.
4. Praying was followed by action i.e. followed by acting out in faith e.g. visitation, spend time to nurse the sick, provide for the needy etc.
