Wealth according to the speaker never survives three generations. So as a Christian do we apply what we hear and entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others from generation to generation (2 Timothy 2:1-2). Normally the first generation knows God, the second generation has a routine of faith and the 3rd generation knew neither God nor have faith in God. Firstly, “do we apply what we hear”? Are you a Christian who lived a double life i.e. a different person in the church and another in the office or market place? Do we just hear and not listen to the fundamental truth of the Gospel. Jesus says his sheep follow him because they know his voice. (John 10:3). The speaker also enquire whether we do have a regular Bible reading plan where we do our regular quiet time and find out what God is trying to say to us. Do we practice “No Bible no breakfast” in the morning? Are we able to do away with our hand phone, newspaper etc. early in the morning and let the Bible be our first “Facebook” to look at?

Secondly do we “Entrust what we hear” or in another words are we disciples who make disciples? We are to pass it on to those who are qualified to teach etc. To pass it on we must first apply to ourselves, reap the benefits then pass on the truth. The speaker reminded that we are not to keep the faith to ourselves. Are we able to make a difference in 10 years’ time? We have to ensure that we invest our lives on “Others” the so called 4th generation people such as our nieces, nephews, brother and sisters etc. The bottom line is we have to be good followers of Jesus Christ.
