“Mind your Prejudice” by Dr. Lee.
“Mind your prejudice” according to the speaker is very serious even with the different denomination in existence in our Churches today. In Acts 10:15, God had shown Peter that he was not to call anything unclean that God has made clean. It was from this incident that Peter realised how true it is that God shows no partiality (v34). In Acts 10:44-45, God did not show partiality for the Holy Spirit that came on all who heard the message even on Gentiles. Christ died for all as mentioned in 1 Peter 3:18. First Peter ventured into Gentile areas in which he shared the Gospel with Cornelius, a Roman and other Gentiles and baptised them and so on. Thus we need to rid ourselves of prejudice. The Social Principles in the Methodist Book of Discipline clause # 87 touched on “Human rights and Responsibilities”. James also touches on the sin of partiality (James 2:1-4). Though there is no doubt that science and research can also help us prevent prejudice, we need to go back to the Biblical truth from the Bible to teach us how we should treat one another. Let God’s Word instruct and correct us and transform us more than what Science can do.
