English Learning Fellowship

English Learning Fellowship

We started to provide English and Mathematics tuition classes to students of a nearby school on March 2, 2019. The classes are being conducted on Saturdays from 8:30am to 11:30am. A team of teachers had volunteered to teach and help the students with their homework. Besides, there was another team of volunteers who fetched and sent the boys to and fro from school or those staying at Kg. Sg. Laru to attend the tuition classes. Going forward, we pray that more students will want to come to learn and improve their command of English and arithmetic skills in spite of the low attendance, averaging about four or five students during the initial stage of the classes.

Meanwhile, the church has also started an adult practical English learning class for students pursuing vocational automotive courses.

Known as the Automobile Skill Academy , it is a volunteer program to provide English tuition to students who are poor in English.

The class is conducted once a week on Saturday from 10:30am to 12pm  at the Advorsys Academy.

The aim of the program is to help the adult students to have a better grasp of English, both oral and written, in a practical way, so that they can perform better at their workplace.

Bro Ling Kwok Huong and Sis Helen Tan head the teaching team with specially designed lessons to meet the students’ lesson syallabus.

The class is assisted by Professor Andrew Tiong with an average of nine students.
