TTMC INAUGURAL WATCHNIGHT SERVICE. (31.12.2019)
Blessed New Year 2020 🎊🙏🗓 to all. Tabuan Trinity Methodist Church (TTMC) hosted its first WatchNight Service on Dec 31, 2019. It was attended by more than 100 worshippers from the church despite having to overcome a bit of drizzling rain. The service started at 10:30 pm with pastor-in-charge Rev. Poh Chin Sing lighting up the candle followed by praise and worship led by Bro Jacob Ting. Later on, the congregation was asked to recite the opening prayer. After that, there were sharings of testimonials by Bro Eric Chong, Bro Tee Yong and his wife. Bro Eric shared that God has provided him well and guided him in his career and work. He observed that when he seeks God first, everything will fall into place. In particular, he pointed out that God has bless him abundantly in his work and business. He shared that his business had even achieved growth last year despite working in a challenging environment. As for his family, Bro Eric was thankful that he can spend quality time with his family members especially with his children. As for Bro Tee Yong, he also seek God first in everything that he did and does. He cited the book of Matthew 6:3 which said, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.” He believed that when we put God first, as he is the Shepherd of our souls, he will guide us, take good care of us and bless us abundantly. Using an example, he shared that initially in 2017, he was reluctant to go for study in theological school due to career advancement and some commitment. But, as he seeks God first and enrolled to study in theological school in 2018, he began to witness how God worked and transformed his life. He shared that he graduated from his studies from the theological school with flying colours and was even given the opportunity to advance his career by his superior through promotion. As for his wife, she noted that God has bless his family including their children. She shared that God always protects them and guide them in their studies and life. Thus, she believes that God is their comforter and protecter. She and Bro Tee Yong felt that they can always have peace of mind whenever they and their family members face challenges in their lives. At the same time, she and Bro Tee Yong encourages all to have faith and trust in the Lord. After the testimonial sharing session, the service continued with a time for exhortation as well as the renewal of litany of covenant. After that, the service resumed with the installation of the LCEC leaders for 2020-2021, partaking of the Holy Communion. As the time approached midnight, the congregation had a moment of silent with God with the lights in the worship hall dimmed before the countdown of the new year began. As the time moved into the new year, the lights in the worhsip hall were switched on and everyone wishes one another Happy New Year 2020 🎊🎉to celebrate the arrival of year 2020. Then, the congregation received the blessings and the service ended with the hymn of dedication “He Leadeth Me: O Blessed Thought”.
