“Can I Trust Jesus” by Rev. Poh on 29th Dec 2019

When we believe in Jesus Christ, can we fully put our trust in Him? The preacher Rev. Poh believed that as Christians, we can trust Jesus because He is the Lord my God.  He cited the book of Isaiah 41:13a which said, “For I am the Lord Your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” He added, “The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not be in want (Psalms 23). He explained that the Lord is the Lord who provides and He is also the God who loves and cares (1 John 4:16). Additionally, he noted that we can trust Jesus because He is the Lord who is our helper and He gave us strength in times of difficulties. “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalms 46:1),” he observed. Furthermore, Rev Poh said the Lord is a God who will hold our hand till the afterlife. Jesus says, “For God so loved the world that gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). In the end, Rev Poh shared a Hokkien song which entitled, “Hold My Hand” (Khan Gua Eh Chiu) and stressed that Jesus will hold our hand until we reached the Father’s home. So, are we the one who has lost our sense of direction? Thus he asked, “Do we lose anything if we come to the end of our life knowing that Christ is not the Lord? Rev Poh explained that the wonders that the Lord has performed on this earth, the testimonies that we have heard from our brothers and sisters and the events and incidents that we see with our own eyes are prove that the Lord exists. Therefore, we can be assured that with His presence, we can live and have peace of mind when we put our trust in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
