“To Preach His Good News” by Rev Poh on 10th March 2019
Parents taking care of Youth in the family are not easy. Youths need to be natured by attending Youth Fellowship Meetings. During a Boys’ Brigade (BB) Officers’ training, Rev Poh shared that there was once a training officer who said to him, “If you win the youth today you would have won a leader for tomorrow”. We need leaders to nurture and guide the youth in the youth ministry, BB and students attending various tuitions so that they may know the Lord. These are the sheep out there with no Shepherd and they could become food for the “wild animals” (Ezekiel 34:8).
He pointed out that the “wild animals” could be hand phones, computer games, drugs, alcohol etc. Meanwhile, social media can be the prison which kept the youth captive. We need them to be set free from the captivity for they can become prisoners in the virtual world waiting to be devoured. With the potential of starting BB in the nearby international school, we need members to come forward to serve. The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few (Luke 10:2). The Church visitation teams have been actively involved in visiting members who may need prayers, love and care. Those who needed visitation could be spiritually or physically sick. Isaiah 61:1c says, “He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners”. We have TTMC Social Care ministry to reach out intentionally with love and care to evangelise and make disciples. As in organising blood donation activity is good, but we need to remember our ultimate objectives which are to reach out intentionally with love and care to evangelise and make disciples. Rev Poh stressed,”So is that You? Are You willing?,”
