“Unfinished Tasks” by Dr. Lee Khoon Siew on 27th Jan 2019
The preacher Dr. Lee shared of a huge task entrusted to her by her superior during her 15 years tenure with the Sarawak General Hospital in which she was not able to complete and imagine the frustration and tears she had to go through. The story of Jesus and the Samaritan women at the well reminded us of the spiritual food that kept Jesus to do the will of him who sent him to finish the work (John 4:34). The first lesson is as we serve, obey and do the Father’s will, we are spiritually fed. So put God first and we will be spiritually satisfied.
The second lesson is the task of sharing God’s Word to sow, water and even reap is NOW and always now. So serve now while you can when we have the “door” of opportunity. There are unfinished work to reach the lost for Christ, the many that are still lost until Christ returns or calls us home. So who are God’s fellow workers? It is you and me and us. Jesus finished the work that the Father gave him to do on the cross for our salvation (John 19:28). As for us, our work will only be finished when we are called home or until Christ returns. Until then it is an unfinished task.
