“Hope in the Lord” by Rev Poh on 2nd Dec 2018
The Preacher shared that when we get old or reached our retirement age, we may put our hope in our children, but do we put our hope in the Lord (Isaiah 40:31)? For the new Church at Tabuan Laru, what we hope to see and do in the various ministries of the church Pastor would not be able to know. How big the congregation would be he also would not be able to know.
An eagle had to adapt to changes of survival when it reaches 40 years old unless it had the ability to remove its outgrown curved beak and live normal again. How about us, our Christian hope? When we became a Christian, we had to lead a new life in Christ (2 Cor 5:17). We need strength from the Lord (Exo 15:2), and the Holy Spirit as our new companion (John 14:26-28) and our hope in the promise of eternal life (1 Pet 1:4). So what do you hope for in serving the Lord? Do we draw strength from the Lord or from our own strength?
