The Sheep outside this Sheep Pen by Rev. Poh on 15th July 2018
When Jesus asked His disciple Peter three times whether he truly love him in which Peter replied, ”Yes, Lord, you know that I love you”. Followed by that, Jesus said, “Feed my lamb/take care of my sheep” (John 21:15-17). We are also reminded in Matthew 28:19-20, in the great commission to take care of the sheep outside the sheep pen. Reaching out to the Unreached/indigenous people could be those at our doorsteps and those living in remote areas. The preachers in conjunction with Sunday school Sunday for e.g. the children are taught on the truth of God in the language they understood best. Used of simple words to ensure they understood God’s Word. Sunday school is not necessary to cater for children but for different age group. Giving language tuition to those not attending Church can be an e.g. of taking care of sheep outside the sheep pen (John 10:16b). We must be disciples with action. So are we ready to take care of other sheep that are not of this sheep pen? Jesus says take care of my sheep/feed my lamb. Are you willing?
